Za'atar - dip

Download

Za'atar is a mixture of wild thyme, toasted sesame, and sumac. It is very fresh, and aromatic, and is quite addictive.

It is found extensively in the eastern Mediterranean countries. This is a Lebanese recipe, but could just as easily be from any of the countries in the area.

This recipe contains the following types of ingredient: plants and fungi.

Ingredients

25 ml
Zaytoun FAIRTRADE olive oil
1 teaspoon
Zaytoun Fair Trade za'atar herb mixture
1 slice
fresh bread
to taste
FAIRTRADE freshly ground black pepper

Notes

Method

Pour the olive oil into a small bowl.

Put the za'atar mix on a side plate.

Tear off a little bread, dip in the oil and then in the za'atar.

"Eat".

Optional Extras

Enjoy a few FAIRTRADE Zaytoun Olives at the same time, they are very tasty.

For a more complex flavour, pour 10 ml of balsamic vinegar into the bowl with the oil, and dip the bread through the oil into the vinegar before dipping in the za'atar.
