A mixture of spices suitable for Cholent
These instructions make about 75 ml or 15 tablespoons worth of mixture.
Store any unused mixture in a sealed (and labelled) glass jar.
Making the mixture in this (large) volume enables accurate measurement the quantities of ingredients.

MethodAssemblyTake the shells off the cardomom pods, and crush the seeds together with the whole cloves using a pestle and mortar. Grate the nutmeg using the fine side of a grater. Assemble the spices in a small (dry) mixing bowl and mix thoroughly. Measure the portion needed for your recipe and store the rest for future use. |
